Sammy’s Pizza has been a tradition in Lakeside since 1958 when it was opened by Jim and Marguerite (Perrella) Acheson. All five of their children – Jim Jr., Steven, Mary Jo, Scott and Michael – worked with them in the restaurant while growing up. And in 1978, when Jim Sr. passed away, they all returned to help their Mom with the family business.
Jim Jr. ultimately purchased the restaurant from his Mom in the early 1980s, continuing the traditions his family started more than 50 years ago, recognizing that progress has less to do with change and more to do with operating exactly the way his grandparents did.
